"And we want each of you to show the same  diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised"  (Hebrews 6:11-12, NIV).

Let's start with the definition of lazy: It means unwilling to work or use energy. I believe laziness and procrastination go hand in hand.  And, procrastination means delaying or postponing something or putting off something, especially something requiring immediate attention. We must be especially careful not to put God off or what He has required of us. To live our purpose out fully, we must avoid laziness and procrastination.

Serving God requires us to be willing and obedient to His will as referenced in Isaiah 1:19. Many start out on fire for God, but somewhere down the line, slack up as if God is not important in our personal lives.  We can be smart, intelligent and have a heart to please God; but laziness can lead to being late on assignments, late to engagements and even not accomplishing assignments. The enemy (Satan) does not want us to do the will of God and lead a life of victory.  Satan wants to stifle, halt and even kill productivity in God's Kingdom. St. John 10:10 says, the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy; But, God came to give us life more abundantly. Laziness is a sure way the enemy uses to bring anxiety, steal joy and defeat purpose. Don't let the enemy have what God has promised.

First, recognize and acknowledge that laziness smoothers all sense of motivation and purpose. Proverbs 21:25 says, "Despite their desires, the lazy will come to ruin, for their hands refuse to work".  Ecclesiastes 10:18 states, "Laziness leads to a sagging roof; idleness leads to a leaky house."  Things just go undone, while the spiritual life is falling apart. Laziness is an enemy to not only your purpose, but to living a productive life. Have you recognized and acknowledged laziness and/or procrastination working in your life?

Remember, God is greater! Determine to be delivered from laziness and procrastination. Negative self-talk has to change: Our thoughts and internal dialogue has to reflect God's truth about us and the situations of life.  We must get comfortable about being uncomfortable in getting "things" done; Getting out of our comfort zone, doing "it" afraid if we must.  Never be afraid of hard work. Whatever God is requiring of us, know that He has equipped us to do it. Even if we learn as we go; in which we learn to depend on God so much more. When we can't see it, know that God would not allow more on us that we can bear. It is also important to resist the temptation to feel guilty if an unseen situation arises making it impossible to complete all scheduled assignments. Continue to persevere day by day. Don't misuse time and sit in idleness, wasting time. Find more Scriptures in the Bible to rehearse in your spirit.  There is nothing to hard for God, if we are willing and obedient. Defeat laziness and procastination with the Word by the Power of the Holy Ghost. Then, walk in your full God-given purpose.

Personal Prayer for Deliverance: Heavenly Father, I thank you for continuing to work with me and never giving up on me. Forgive me for walking in the spirit of laziness and procrastination, along with any other sin committed.  Help me in overcoming laziness, procrastination and any spirit hindering my purpose on this earth. Holy Spirit, prick my spirit to not put off what I can do today.  Cure the habitual tardiness and help me in preparation. Free me from self-imposed chaos of life-long laziness and procrastination: I pray for divine order and the serenity I need to restore order and organization to my daily living.  Lord, I will be obedient in walking out my full purpose and potential in You through faith and patience. In Jesus name, amen.

Scriptural fasting and prayer will also aid in breaking the spirit of laziness and other areas. Make a to-do-list and accomplish something daily. Start as simple as making your bed daily, doing dishes daily... Add more as time goes on. However, don't forget to include GOD. If you are unfamiliar with with fasting & prayer search the Scriptures and other Biblical literature. My prayers are with you. But, more than that God is with you and for you!

I need help from Lord, pray for me
I messed up everything in my life because of laziness and procrastination...
My health is gone, wealth drained out
Distanced myself with God

I am sorry...
I have been a plain mistake
Please forgive me lord

Someone please pray so that my life turns around
And something good start happening

Thank you for the prayer. I seek God’s presence on me for laziness to never lead me, so I can do God’s goodwill on Earth.
